The Quilted Heart

It's St. Charles, 1865, the home of Maren, Emilie & Caroline . They are three very different women, with pasts as diverse as they are. Yet they all find comfort in the quilting circle. Here is a place to let their worries and joys be known. It's just the kind of healing each ot them needs. Mona, a transplant from Denmark, is feeling homesick and lovesick. So far from her family, and left all alone after a marriage proposal goes awry, she is glad to find a second family in the Bratrnbergs. Content to do her work until she can buy passage home, she is very unprepared for the man the Lord brings into her life. Will this change everything? Emilie loves working for her fathers store. Especially because he is all she has. And with her father sending her to school, she has little time for anything else, least of all love. Then why is she so charmed by an old childhood friend, just returned. How will this effect the life her father has laid out for her? Caroline is still trying to deal with the fact that her husband will never return home from the war. Heartbroken and beaten down, she deicides she'd like to try a new adventure to relieve her mind of its troubles. Then why is she finding the once prickly confederate soldier so entrancing? Could he be what she needs to mend her heart? I have to say, I didn't love this book. But I think that's due to discovering, while reading this book that I don't love novellas. The story progresses too fast for me and then begins to feel unrealistic. I would however still recommend this book to another, as a lighthearted and quick read. The was nothing in it for me that was profound, but again, a cute quick read. It Would be especially great for a teenager who is looking to join the current fad in reading romance novels. This of course would be a much better alternative to what everyone else is reading.

101 bible stories - from creation to revelation

Nestled in between a sturdy hard covered book, you will find soft glossy pages that are very nicely illustrated. Instead of finding toddler like images, you will see artistic paintings in muted colors. It's a very nice touch, as it keeps a childs story bible library diverse. Each page has a full color picture and one story. This is great for kids of all ages and attentions spans. I really like this story book. Currently my oldest child is a toddler and I think this is perfect for his attention span. He will get to hear the Word, while by asking questions about the pictures meanings. I also think this would be great for older children learning to read on their own. And for teaching purposes. As a visceral reader, I especially enjoyed the feel of the pages. This is very nicely done. I received this book from the publisher in exchange for a honest review

Sewing her heart into all she puts her hands too, Beth is finding purpose in all God has laid put for her to do... And she may even find love! I enjoyed this light hearted book. I used to sit around and read Oke to my great grandmother, as a Child. So I have very fond memories of her books. This is the first I have read as an adult, and I wasn't disappointed. I definitely felt the urge to keep reading on to see what would happen next.band left off at the end feeling hopeful . I do hope there will be a sequel to this book. As I'm very interested to hear more of the story. I received this book in exchange for an honest review

Wings of glass

Penny lives in a small town, with a small population. So it's almost natural that she would take the first guy who showed an interest in her. Especially when it's Trent Taylor, older, handsome and most of all, interested in Penny. But the honeymoon phase doesn't last long. The handsome face can't hide his abusive side. And penny can't hide from him. Things get rough, but Penny stays true. Until an accident changes everything. With Trent not working, Penny takes a job. And despite her hesitancy, befriends the ladies she works with. It's not hArd for them to see what's happening behind her closed doors. And they begin to get involved. As Penny fights what she knows in her heart is right, the ladies fight harder to help keep her alive. Can Penny stand up for herself, separate her emotions from the damaging Trent, long enough to finally make things right? And will she have the support she needs if she makes it free? I liked this book. This is the first I had read from this author. I really enjoyed the story line, and was continually looking to see what would happen next. I think she did a great job and would recommend this to a variety of people. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

The rhyme bible

Full colored illustrations come to life in this book of fun rhymes. Stories are paraphrased in a short and memorable ryhme that all kids will be able to remember. The simple verbiage is a draw to all ages. I think this book is cute. It's very simply done. There were a few ryhmes that I don't feel flowed very well. But then I'm an adult. Most kids are less critical and would enjoy stories told in an easy way to be rememebered .. It's also a great discussion book. Since it is a very paraphrased version of the story, your kids can ask you to expound on the actual story. I received this book from the publisher in exchange for a review.

The Jesus bible

Nicely bound in a hardcover, discover all kinds of new things in this bible. Almost every page has a point of interest for the reader. The pages are soft, and the bible stays open when being read. All kinds of fun pages covered with good thinking points and ideas that apply to a child in this generation. Good muted colors for boy or girl and lots of references in the back. I think this is a great learning bible for kids. The feel of the bible really appealed to the visceral reader in me. And the non kiddy colors set it apart from other devotional bibles. This would be a good bible for the child who has just learned to read, and much older. Very fun read! I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher.
